Customer photo review of Academic 2026–2027 | The Nancy Planner | Roots & Rain

I’m obsessed! This planner allows me to see my week and my month at the same time! I love the flexibility of the pages on the right which I customize every month. I was a proud Franklin/Covey girl for 25 years before sitting next to a friend in a meeting and being convinced within 1 minute to switch. And switch I did! I’ll never go back!

I LOVE IT. I had the standard-sized teacher edition last year and my neuro-diverse brain didn’t work with the vertical day layout and the size was almost..burdensome. The mini Nancy with the lesson plan inserts, the bookmarks, the accessory options, the horizontal layout for the days (which I will draw lines on, to break into sections for my 5 class periods), the rich color!!, and that it’s mini make this MY planner. It’s like you know me! (said in a Valley girl/Sally Field acceptance speech mash-up kind of way.) Additionally, I come from a family of contemplative, methodical ‘small writers’ (we literally write tiny) and, as a crazed new teacher with 2 preps, I have sorely lapsed. This perfect planner will help me revive and refine the calm, intentional parts of myself that are interwoven with my self-care regimen (also on a suspended hold), as I thoughtfully organize my teacher life in my teeny handwriting. Thank you so much for creating these personalized, beautiful, and ‘omgah, this just makes sense!’ life planners. ALSO. THE. FREEBIES. I plan to use the student chaos organizer sheet with my study hall kids, as it’s so relatable and user-friendly. And the small quarterly calendar..seriously, ya’ll.. It’s evoking a “I want to be friends with the designers” emotionality thing over here. The freebies are going to further enrich my chaotic, middle-school teacher life. [NOTE: If you’re new here, grab the planner and color you want while they are still in stock!! I waited last year and missed out on my first color-choice.] Finally, I am so thankful that you have created a July-June calendar as my year-round school runs from July to May. July can’t get here soon enough!!

This is my third planner. I am a teacher and I did use the teacher planner one year, but it was too big for me to easily carry around with me---the smaller Nancy is perfect. The horizontal week is also better fit since I teach only two subjects. I bought the sticky note pallet to go with it last year and they are amazing. The video support has pushed me to use each section of my planner which makes me feel that everything really is in one place. I am so thankful I found this planner...it works like my brain.

Academic 2026–2027 | The Nancy Planner | Roots & Rain

I have tried many planners. And when I say many, I mean many. I have never found one that works for my brain like this one does. Being able to see my week and day at the same time does something magical in my brain. I love the sticky notes. I can write out my to dos and move them to the day that I’m able to do them so I’m not rewriting a bunch of things over and over. I can meal plan and then toss them out so I have more space. I love it. I’m obsessed.

Carrying it around feels like hauling around a business checkbook in a heavy binder. I added information for the first month and about two weeks, but after that, I stopped using it. Unfortunately, the overall format, size, and design just don’t fit my needs or the way I like to stay organized.

Store owner replied: We’re truly sorry to hear this planner wasn’t the right fit for you. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and we hope you find a planner that works perfectly for your planning style.

I appreciate the layout and trade marked organization (week overview). However overall it’s large and didn’t fit in my Work backpack, yes I read the measurements and yes I estimated it’s fit, but its length and unnecessary thickness of the coil binding definitely made it more of a stationary planner. AND despite it being large the days in the month view are still rather small and forces my print to be tiny. The design is definitely unique but for the price I paid ($70 including shipping and tax) I should be in love with it not annoyed. But I take the blame, I’m more of a “ I need to see it in person” individual and this time I went against my better judgment. Sticking to my Office Depot planner next year.

Academic 2026–2027 | The Nancy Planner | Roots & Rain

I am obsessed with it! I gave it 4/5 only because I wish the monthly boxes were a little bigger and the individual week days a smidge smaller. But I truly love it and can’t wait to use it fully when school starts!

Academic 2026–2027 | The Nancy Planner | Roots & Rain

This is my third year with the academic planner. The first year I did the large, last two the mini. I’m a teacher and it allows me not only to see the month and week at the same time, but also my personal plans and lesson outline for each week. I can’t live with out it now! I would love for it to be available for purchase a few months earlier.
