This July 2026 – June 2027 academic planner gives you the same simple, at-a-glance structure as the Scout, with a full monthly view on the left and dedicated dot grid notes space on the right.
It’s a layout that keeps your plans visible while giving you room for lists, notes, and anything else that doesn’t fit neatly into a box.
Created in response to customer requests, the Luna offers a more spacious way to plan without overcomplicating your system.

Just a heads up: The Luna is our newest planner layout and is currently available in Large only for our Academic collection. Small Luna planners are coming in future launches, beginning with our 2027 yearly collection.

The Scout and The Luna planners are spiral-bound and available in Large and Small sizes. They let you see your monthly calendar at the top and your weekly planning pages at the bottom at the same time, making it easy to connect the big picture with your everyday plans.
Choose Scout if you love seeing as much of your monthly calendar as possible while keeping your weekly plans in view. The monthly layout spans both pages, giving you larger calendar boxes, more space for appointments and events, and letting each week line up with your monthly calendar for easy planning at a glance.
Choose Luna if your planner is just as much for thinking as it is for scheduling. It offers the same layered planning experience while replacing part of the monthly calendar with a full-page dashboard for notes, lists, projects, meal planning, notes, and everything else that doesn't fit neatly into a calendar.
The dashboard is designed to be flexible, so you can use it in whatever way supports your planning style. Customers use it for running to-do lists, project planning, meal planning, reminders, brain drops, habit tracking, work notes, school assignments, journaling, and anything else they want to keep connected to their monthly plans.

To make finding compatible accessories easier, Laurel Denise planners use simple size numbers. Large Luna planners use Size 1 accessories, while Small Luna planners use Size 4 accessories.
Once you know your planner's size number, it's easy to shop for reusable plastic inserts, paper inserts, sticky notes, bookmarks, and other Laurel Denise accessories designed to fit your planner.

I have been searching for the perfect planner and this is it!! I love being able to see the entire week as well as the entire month. Plus there is so much extra space for notes. I will definitely get more planners in the future
I wanted to buy one in December of last year, but I struggled to use a planner on a frequent enough basis that I decided not to. All I could think about everytime I got my cheap undated planner out was that I wish I had bought it. I told my husband that I was going to get one the next December. Then, the academic line came out. Then, the Luna was released and it is literally everything I need.
Absolutely love the academic planner! I missed the boat on it last year and settled for the regular, which I also really liked. My only gripe on the new academic planner is that there are not enough grading pages to get me through the school year. I wish more were offered initially or even offered as an add on.
This is my third and favorite planner so far!!! I didn’t think the scout could get any better but the Luna knew what I needed!!!!! Love being able to see my week, month and notes/lists all at the same time!! I am a busy Speech Pathologist with two jobs and Mom with lots of deadlines and events so this planner has been a lifesaver!!
Okay, I have now found my favorite LD planner. After a few years in the large Nancy, I've moved into the large Luna. It is the planner I didn't know I needed. I've got the daily, weekly and room for notes in the perfect size. While I loved the large Nancy, it was hard to find room on my desk to keep her open. The Luna is perfect.
The calendar boxes are not large enough to actually write events in and the daily planner sheets are too small as well. I think the calendar should extend to the two pages instead of the right side being dotted. It’s just a waste of money for me. I’m very disappointed because I was so excited to get it. I love the concept just not the execution.

It is perfect! The pages and binding are high quality- the calendar is set up in a way that its easy to see the weekly spread along with the entire month overview. The extra pages in the back are great for notes during meetings
I love a good planner and this Luna planner was clearly the brainchild of someone with a lot to keep track of. I am a parent and a teacher and I need to keep a lot of information visible so that I can keep my life on track. I have a huge whiteboard calendar in my house, I use a calendar app but I also need a physical planner to wrangle all the information to begin with. This setup allows me to see the month and week at the same time AND makes notes as well. When I head back to school I am excited to be able to incorporate meeting notes and brain dump notes all where I can see them along with my schedule. With two kids in many activities as well this is indispensable.
