How to Finally Find a Planner That Works

Mo’s current season of life is busy in the way that only a founder-mom life can be:
She’s doing a lot - and doing it well - but like so many high-capacity women, her planning systems weren’t fully supporting her behind the scenes.
Before we matched her, Mo already had a few solid habits:
✅ She starts her day with journaling (we love to see it)
✅ She writes down her 3 main priorities for the day (amazing)
✅ She relies heavily on digital scheduling for appointments and meetings (so good)
And here’s what we loved: we didn’t try to change what was already working.
Mo’s digital calendar is clearly doing its job. So instead of forcing an “all paper” routine, we focused on what paper planners do best:
✨ helping her feel grounded, prepared, and clear ✨
Even with a full digital schedule and good intentions, Mo was missing a few key things in her day-to-day planning.
Here’s what she told us she needed:
Mo wanted to stop feeling like she was constantly reacting.
Not necessarily every detail - just the big family things she wanted to be aware of.
A place where her notes aren’t floating around or stuck in her brain.
Marketing is a big focus this year, and she needed a system to plan it in advance.
She wanted an easier way to follow through - especially on recurring goals like going live, staying consistent on stories, and planning ahead.
After talking through her schedule and her needs, the planner that fit her best was…
Why? Because it gives her structure without boxing her in.
It’s flexible enough for her creative brain, but organized enough for her CEO responsibilities and busy family life.
Mo needed her paper planner to do a few specific jobs:
So here’s the layout we recommended:
Mo already writes down her top priorities in the morning.
Instead of journaling them and never looking back, we suggested moving them into the planner where she’ll actually see them during the day.
Nancy left side = daily priorities + must-do tasks
This was the perfect place for “big picture” family stuff:
Right side = home + family awareness
This way she can stay in the loop without needing to track every micro-detail.
Mo needed a home base for notes, so we used what she already has built-in.
We suggested using the notes space as her meeting hub and dividing it into easy categories with simple headers like:
Nothing fancy - just a system that makes notes easy to find later.
This was one of the biggest “aha” moments.
Mo wanted accountability without a complicated routine, so we recommended using the habit tracker as a frequency tracker.
Examples:
This turns “I want to do it” into “I did it” and that’s where consistency starts.
Because we know some seasons require more space, we’re sending a few helpful extras so she can expand when needed:
Perfect if her meeting notes need more room than the notes section allows.
So she can map marketing plans, big promotions, and launches ahead of time.
Instead of keeping ideas in her head (or scattered everywhere), we encouraged her to use the back pages as:
Your brain deserves a break. Your planner can hold it. 😉
The planner is the tool, but the habit is what makes it stick.
So we suggested two simple rhythms:
A weekly check-in where she sits down, looks ahead, and creates her daily task lists.
Even 10 minutes helps her feel prepared instead of behind.
Once a month, she can map out:
This is where the “I’m prepared” feeling comes from.
Mo already starts her day with journaling so instead of adding a whole new routine, we recommended habit stacking:
✨ Start the day with a quick planner moment
✨ End the day with a quick planner moment
Even 2 minutes in the morning and 2 minutes at the end of the day builds consistency without burnout.
Mo didn’t need a planner that forced her to change who she is.
She needed a planner that:
✅ Holds the moving pieces
✅ Keeps family + work in one view
✅ Organizes meeting notes
✅ Supports marketing planning
✅ Builds accountability
✅ Helps her feel prepared again
And that’s exactly what the Nancy does for her.
If you’re juggling a full schedule, family life, business goals, and a brain that never stops thinking… you don’t need “more motivation.”
