The OMG-You've-Got-To-Try-This List: July 2024

The peak time of the year has come! Summer is in full swing and we're so happy to be soaking up so much fun and sun :) We're also welcoming a new face to our LD Team!! Jenn is another mama in Virginia, and we're super grateful to have her around to help with all of the things. Now, let's jump on in to some staff faves!

Jenn:
My daughter is a total Swiftie and recently celebrated her 10th birthday. She has officially entered her pre-teen Era and for her bday received a Mini Eras of Soap Pack from Sparta Candle Co. OMG I have gift envy! Anyone wanna take a road trip with me to Sparta, North Carolina? Or maybe we can just share reels of the company's hilarious shenanigans on Instagram.

Mabby:
Thick pony tail girls, unite! I have never in my life used such an amazing ponytail holder - I ran to the phone and immediately called my sister, my bestie, and Aline. Seriously - just trust me on this (no slippage, no breaking, no getting stuck while trying to pull it out!)

Summertime means more teens with phones….my teens read on the Kindle app on their phones but I was sick of seeing their phones in their faces. So I purchased (used on eBay) Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Kids for all four kiddos - LIFE CHANGING! These kids wake up and read right away! I have Kindle Unlimited so many books are already included on their account. If this isn't a mom hack, I don't know what is.

Lolly:
My littlest wanted to “draw like Nancy on the iPad” a few weeks ago and we searched for some Procreate Kids Tutorials. Girlfriend did this for almost 3 hours straight and is well into her second video now! She LOVES it and I am so happy for her to be learning a new way to use her creativity. Here is the first video she watched.

Have I talked about this already? I don’t even care. Y’all. I cannot express how magical this thing is. It’s worth every single penny. Last year, I tried to be on a boat for a lake vacation and I barely made it on for 3 hours (during which I was dying) and then I was sick for days after. This year? THIS YEAR?! This year, I had my relief band and I was on for 8 hours straight, no sickness whatsoever, and I LOVED it! She’s a boat girl now, y’all, and I have relief band to thank. (I got the waterproof sport version, but there are less expensive options on their site.)

Nancy:
That feeling when you finish a book and you feel a little bit changed inside? That's what happened to me when I read the last page of this thriller by Jessica Knoll. "A compulsive, extraordinary novel inspired by the real-life sorority targeted by America's first celebrity serial killer in his final murderous spree."

Aline:
Something about summer has me wanting to make lots of new fun things from scratch at home! That, and I also found this mom’s channel. She’s awesome. We’ve already had lots of bread from this super easy recipe, yummy lemonade with this syrup, and I have the ingredients now to make granola and granola bars this week! This is huge for me, y’all. Next up on the list is homemade ice cream. Share your fave recipes if you have one!!
