Middle School in a Mini Vertical Weekly Planner

School starts WAY too soon, so to inspire my pre-teen daughter to get back into the middle school mindset, I took her planner (that her school gives her for free, which is amazing!) and Laurel Denise’d it. Yes, yes I did just make a verb out of my brand. It’s all good. The Mini Vertical Weekly was perfect to fit everything she needs to see and also leave room for the obviously necessary cute factor. I think it's so fetch, but she says we have to say sigma now?

*******************************************

Let's break it down:

I started by splitting each daily vertical section into blocks for each of her classes as well as note space where she can keep track of tasks and reminders. These sections help her to remember what homework she has each day as well as when tests and quizzes are coming up.

In the monthly section, she's able to note bigger events like sports, study hall, birthdays, and weekend plans! I wrote larger than I normally do to better mimic’s a 12-year old’s handwriting, but still stuck to the tried and true 0.38 pen.

My girl loves to doodle in her planner and decorates each week with a different color with highlighters and all of her favorite pens - used our Laurel Denise pens and highlighters. I love it so much so I wanted to make sure I included that space for creativity. (Also, what's a 13-year old's planner without the cutest stickers?)

In the habit tracking space, I tried to keep it positive. Happy things that she loves to do daily and ONE chore that she's able to then track for that fun reward dopamine hit we all love, right?

For the icing on the cake, I wanted to include inspirational quotes where she'd be able to see them all month. My girl is all about those.

Hopefully this serves as some inspiration for you as well as you're preparing the kiddos (or yourself) for back to school. You've got this! And we're right here cheering you on.
