In the beginning…
The Laurel Denise Jewelry line came to Laurel in a dream in the middle of the night. Months that seemed like days passed and Laurel's small room quickly became a studio, completely covered in sterling silver & gold chain, glass, scraps of paper, and sketches. Many tested designs, tested materials, and glass cuts later, Laurel Denise Jewelry Design was born.

How the job gets done…
These necklaces are each small pieces of delicate art that Laurel creates using translucent glass, small drills, thin paper, and her creativity. Each necklace begins as a small piece of glass which Laurel cuts, smooths, and drills to become the correct shape.

Laurel and her teeny tiny permanent pen individually draw each image that will be displayed on the piece of glass on very thin paper -- sizing it perfectly to match the glass. The hand-drawn image is melted with the glass using a special compound that makes each pendant waterproof, durable, and smooth. After each of these steps are taken, Laurel attaches the sterling silver or 14k gold chain to each glass pendant and creates the beautiful necklaces that you see on this site.

The designer…
Laurel is an artist. She is a sister, an aunt, a youngest child, and a best friend. Laurel believes in life's goodness and fills her mind and heart with the people who add to that goodness.
